Memphis is located on the Belle River between St. Clair and Macomb Counties, with the larger part being located in Macomb County.
Memphis has a landmark called "The Thing", which is a historical market noting the home of the first automobile. This first automobile ran six miles. There is a historical marker located just east of M-19 on Boardman Road.
There are three parks in Memphis, they are: The Edward Musical Memorial Park, The Old School Park, and the ballfield.
